A+FCU is committed to supporting current and college-bound students thrive in their education with $2,000 scholarships.

Scholarship Program

We’re committed to helping A+FCU and community members improve their financial well-being. With deep roots in education, we understand the value a college degree can have. That’s why we award scholarships to hardworking high school and college students each year.

In 2024, we awarded 75 $2,000 scholarships to eligible students in honor of the credit union’s 75th anniversary.

2024 Recipients

In 2024, we awarded $150,000 to 75 students. These recipients were selected based on their eligibility, academic achievements, and community involvement.

Eligibility Requirements

Eligible applicants must attend or plan to attend an accredited college or university and be:

Graduating high school seniors pursuing a major in education or other fields OR
College students pursuing an education degree who have been admitted to the College of Education and have a minimum of 60 collegiate hours OR
Teachers pursuing a graduate degree

Can I apply for a scholarship if neither I nor my parents are A+FCU members?

As long as you or a parent joins before the deadline, your application will be considered.

How can I make changes to my application?

Once the application is submitted, it can no longer be edited. Follow these instructions to request it be opened for editing.

How do I ensure recommendation letters were submitted on my behalf?

Follow these instructions to check the status of your reference request. Applicants must ensure their recommenders submit their letters. Otherwise, the application will be disqualified. If they encounter any issues, please email [email protected].

When will scholarships be awarded?

Results are typically announced in May. Scholarship recipients will receive instructions detailing how to claim scholarship funds along with additional information then.

How do I view my submission or see additional forms once the application closes?

You’ll need to log in to Submittable with the email used to create your account. Here are instructions on how to access existing applications.

Completion of a scholarship application in no way guarantees eligibility or scholarship funding. A scholarship committee appointed by A+FCU shall be the sole decision-maker regarding the award of any scholarships, and its decision shall be final. A+FCU reserves the right to amend the terms of any scholarship at any time without prior notice. The A+FCU scholarship is non-renewable; eligible students must reapply each year.
