The A+ Federal Credit Union (A+FCU) Board of Directors awarded 60 Texas high school and college students with $120,000 in scholarships for the 2025-2026 school year.

Awarding scholarships has been a long-standing A+FCU tradition, benefiting more than 670 students with over $1.23 million in scholarship support for their college endeavors.

Each year, we’re humbled and inspired by the passion, determination, and resilience of our scholarship applicants. In 2025, we’re proud to award 60 scholarships to an exceptional group of students who not only embody academic excellence but also demonstrate a deep commitment to serving others. It is an honor to support their journeys and invest in building stronger communities through education.

“Each year, we’re humbled and inspired by the passion, determination, and resilience of our scholarship applicants,” Terry Lord, A+FCU Board Member and Scholarship Committee Chair, said. “In 2025, we’re proud to award 60 scholarships to an exceptional group of students who not only embody academic excellence but also demonstrate a deep commitment to serving others. It is an honor to support their journeys and invest in building stronger communities through education.”

Recipients were selected for their academic achievements and community involvement and represent 8 universities and 38 high schools.

“This scholarship will in every way support my dreams of becoming a first-generation college student,” Kamily Delgado-Perez, who’s graduating from Liberal Arts and Science Academy, said. “I became a member at 15 years old, and I can’t say how grateful I am to have worked with A+FCU for so long. Their dedication to supporting young adults in the community allows students like me to dream big and achieve our goals!”

“This scholarship is more than financial assistance – it is a vote of confidence in my mission to transform bilingual education,” Norma Romero-Komlofske, Texas A&M Kingsville student studying for her Ed.D. in Bilingual Education, said. “It will grant me the opportunity to focus on groundbreaking research, amplify the voices of multilingual students, and ensure that every child’s language is seen as an asset rather than a challenge.”

Recipients were recognized at the A+FCU Scholarship Ceremony held May 21, 2025.
