On Tuesday, August 29, 2023, the Austin Chamber recognized A+ Federal Credit Union (A+FCU) during their annual Austin Gives Awards as a winner of the Austin Gives Generous Business – Community Leader Category.

“We’re truly honored to be recognized for our work in the community by the Austin Chamber for the 2023 Austin Gives Awards,” said Eric R. Kase, A+FCU President and CEO. “Through the work of our team-led volunteer program, A+ Gives, we are dedicated to giving back and building stronger communities through volunteerism, donations, and special programs.”

The Austin Gives program, through the Austin Chamber of Commerce, recognizes businesses that have pledged one percent or more of pre-tax earnings – such as volunteer time, services, and financial contributions – to the local community. Nominees for the Generous Business Awards were separated into four categories based on company size.

The winning award submission included the A+ Gives program and various financial education initiatives. Through A+ Gives – a program created in 2019 to show support and appreciation to local communities – employees volunteered over 2,250 hours and the program donated more than $70,000 throughout 2022. In addition, in October A+FCU hosted its inaugural A+ Gives Day for a company-wide day of volunteering consisting of over 470 employees volunteering more than 2,000 hours, while the program also donated $10,000 between four community organizations.

In 2022, the financial education programs reached 2,056 youth and adults through 53 events. A+FCU employees gave classroom presentations, hosted financial simulations and workshops, and helped 63 Scouts receive their Personal Management Merit Badge.

Through these programs, we continue to focus on addressing community needs, supporting education, promoting financial literacy, and making a difference in the lives of individuals and families.
