Thank You For A Successful 2023
We’re grateful for our members who continue to help strengthen our credit union.
2023 was a big year not only for the credit union but also for the schools and districts we support, community leaders and organizations we partner with, and our members who trust us with their financial needs. We’re thankful for a year that offered many giveback opportunities, including welcoming back our in-person youth financial camps, and the numerous awards and recognitions we had the honor of receiving.
2023 Accomplishments

A+ Gives
We continued our A+ Gives program by supporting multiple organizations throughout the year. In addition to our ongoing volunteering, we hosted our second annual A+ Gives Day on October 9, 2023 as a way for our entire organization to spend the day doing good in the community. Over 500 A+FCU team members volunteered 1,776 hours at 40 Central Texas organizations and 26 organizations across the nation.
Along with donating our time, we established a community voting process to award special A+ Gives Day donations totaling $10,000. With over 4,750 votes from community members, we awarded the four top-voted organizations with a $2,500 check on A+ Gives Day – congratulations to Backpack Friends, HopeAustin, ROCK Ride On Center for Kids, and Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Texas.
The House That Credit Unions Built
For a fourth year, we partnered with local credit unions and Austin Habitat for Humanity to build a home for a community member in need through The House That Credit Unions Built program. This partnership included a $15,000 donation to support safe and affordable housing in our community.
Helping Our Community
In 2023, we donated over $909,000 to community partners, school and member cash-back programs, sponsorships, and more. In addition to donating funds, Team A+ also volunteered 6,244 hours to chamber, education, and community events.
Supporting Education
As an institution created for and by educators, we’re committed to helping our communities thrive through education. Here’s what we were able to achieve:
- 356 Community Education events with 10,415 attendees
- 61 Scouts earned their Personal Management Merit Badge through our program
- Awarded $120,000 in scholarships to 60 recipients
- Over $104,900 in grants awarded to 77 area educators
