On Monday, October 14, 2024, A+FCU hosted its annual A+ Gives Day in which over 490 team members volunteered more than 1,610 hours at 43 Central Texas organizations and 29 organizations across the nation.

A+ Gives Day is an expansion of the credit union’s ongoing A+ Gives program to show appreciation and support for the communities A+FCU serves. A+ Gives Day specifically focuses on organizations that help in four key areas: animal needs, community outreach, food insecurity, and park clean up.

Key highlights from this year’s A+ Gives Day:

On A+ Gives Day, we’re incredibly proud of the work done by our A+ team members to benefit so many deserving organizations during this special day of volunteering in our local communities. This is our third year hosting A+ Gives Day, and when I see the positive impact on our team members and the organizations they serve, it’s a tangible reminder of the importance of organizations like ours taking action to build stronger communities.

– Eric Kase, A+FCU President/CEO

“On A+ Gives Day, we’re incredibly proud of the work done by our A+ team members to benefit so many deserving organizations during this special day of volunteering in our local communities,” said Eric R. Kase, President/CEO of A+ Federal Credit Union. “This is our third year hosting A+ Gives Day, and when I see the positive impact on our team members and the organizations they serve, it’s a tangible reminder of the importance of organizations like ours taking action to build stronger communities.”

From the planning stages of A+ Gives Day to the actual day of service, every team member at A+FCU plays a role in offering more support than ever before to these organizations. “Our A+ team helped us feed local children by packing weekend ‘backpack bags’ of food for our Feed Kids Right Now backpack programs. The team packed 600 bags, which amounts to 3,000 meals plus snacks,” said Trey Williams, Founder and Executive Director of Ancora Ministries. “We cannot do what we do without the support of people who are passionate about what we are passionate about: feeding kids! Volunteers help us with all the logistics of packing and delivering the food.”

A+FCU not only volunteered time, but also donated $10,000 as part of the A+ Gives Day initiative after organizing a community voting process that generated over 5,650 votes from community members and partner organization supporters. On A+ Gives Day, the top-five voted organizations were each awarded a $2,000 check – congratulations to African American Youth Harvest Foundation, Ancora Ministries Feed Kids Right Now, Central Texas Table of Grace, ROCK Ride On Center for Kids, and Williamson County Children’s Advocacy Center.
