On Monday, October 10, 2022, A+FCU hosted its inaugural A+ Gives Day with over 470 A+FCU team members volunteering 2,000+ hours at organizations throughout the Central Texas community and beyond.

A+ Gives Day is an expansion of the credit union’s ongoing A+ Gives program, which was founded in 2019 as a year-long series of acts of kindness to show appreciation and support for the communities A+FCU serves. A+ Gives Day specifically focused on organizations that help in four key areas: food insecurity, animal needs, community outreach, and with a nod to the 50 teachers who founded A+FCU, a number of local schools.

Key highlights from A+ Gives Day:

Challenging ourselves to expand upon our established A+ Gives program is a tangible way to show our staff and our communities that we are committed to banking on each other and building stronger communities.

– Eric R. Kase, A+FCU President/CEO

“We’re so pleased by the overwhelmingly positive response we’ve received for the volunteering our team did throughout A+ Gives Day,” said Eric R. Kase, A+FCU President and CEO. “Challenging ourselves to expand upon our established A+ Gives program is a tangible way to show our staff and our communities that we are committed to banking on each other and building stronger communities. I truly believe Team A+ benefits just as much as the organizations with which we partner. Being able to give our time and talent means a lot to each of us.”

Thanks to every team member at A+FCU, more support was offered to these organizations and schools than ever before. “Thank you all for your time at our AISD campuses,” said David Torres, Austin ISD Mentor Coordinator. “You all worked hard in different capacities to better our students and campus environments.”

A+FCU is honored to have been able to give back to the schools in the area and make a difference for educators. “Thank you so much for your volunteers!” said Mr. ChaoLin Chang, Principal of Joslin Elementary School. “They are amazing!”

Being able to help educators in and out of the classroom is a goal A+FCU works for each year and the addition of A+ Gives Day offered a unique opportunity to do that. “The volunteers really went above and beyond today,” said Tina Walker, Joslin ES PTA President. “They did some hard work on our outdoor garden and for our holiday decorations. We really appreciated all of them today.”
